

Dr Chetana Kallappa
Consultant Paediatrician, Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust
Dr Chetana Kallappa is a Consultant Paediatrician at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, part of the Midland Metropolitan University Hospitals NHS Trust, Birmingham. She has been practising as a General Paediatric Consultant within the NHS since 2009.
She has a specialist interest in paediatric sleep medicine, as well as paediatric neurology and epilepsy. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Sleep Medicine from the University of Western Australia, awarded with distinction, and has gained additional experience at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, USA.
Since 2010, Dr Kallappa has led a regional paediatric sleep clinic, providing assessment and management for a wide range of sleep disorders, including parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, hypersomnolence, narcolepsy, and sleep-related breathing disorders. She also has extensive experience supporting neurodiverse children, including those with autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
She is actively involved in research, teaching, and training, with a strong commitment to advancing paediatric sleep medicine.
