Dr Mirza is a Consultant Psychiatrist, ADHD Lead in East Hertfordshire, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire. With over 30 years of international clinical, research, and academic experience, he specialises in the assessment and treatment of ADHD and other psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. Trained at the Maudsley Hospital and the University of Cambridge, he has held senior positions at leading institutions in the UK and Canada. Dr Mirza combines evidence-based psychological therapies, lifestyle interventions, and medication in his holistic approach to care. He has expertise in psychopharmacology and has contributed to clinical research and prescribing guidance in child and adolescent mental health. Dr. Mirza has published widely on ADHD, substance misuse, PTSD, and psychopharmacology, and continues to lead research, including studies on the impact of trauma on the developing brain. He is Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Special Interest Group on Adolescent Substance Misuse and has contributed to national UK guidelines for the treatment of young people with substance misuse.
