Consultant Psychiatrist at the Northwest Boroughs NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Johnson completed his higher training in psychiatry from the University of Liverpool. He set up the adult ADHD service at the Northwest Boroughs NHS Trust in 2008 and has since been heading the service which is one of the biggest ADHD service providers in the Northwest. He is the Northwest lead for the national organisation UKAAN (UK adult ADHD network). He has been actively involved in teaching and training and has been the postgraduate clinical tutor for over 6 years and an examiner for the MRCPsych exams. He is also the clinical lead for the Trust ECT service.

Mr Kobus Van Rensburg is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with more than 30 years’ experience in the field of neurodevelopmental conditions. He is president of UKAAN, the UK Adult ADHD Network, where he delivers the diagnosis and assessment of adult ADHD training to delegates from across the world.

Professor of Molecular Psychiatry at the MRC Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) Research Centre at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London

Prof. Asherson works on clinical, quantitative genetic and molecular genetic studies of ADHD in adults and children, and clinical assessment and treatment of adult ADHD. He has been a senior member of the UK National Adult ADHD Clinic at the Maudsley Hospital since 1998 and is the author and co-author of more than 140 articles and book chapters on genetics of psychiatric conditions including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and ADHD. He played a key role in the NICE guidelines for ADHD that were published in March 2018 and subsequently worked with a small group of health professionals and support groups to establish the UK Adult ADHD Network, that aims to provide ADHD education and training as well as supporting the establishment of local services and setting a common standard for diagnosis and treatments of adults with ADHD. He is the Honorary President of the UK Adult ADHD Network.
