Melanie qualified in paediatric nursing in 1995 and as a health visitor in 2004 after completing her specialist community public health practice degree. Melanie currently holds the post of Lead Neurodisability Nurse and manages an ever-growing team of neurodisability nurses, covering ADHD, autism, learning disability and complex needs. She has worked within the service for the past 14 years and alongside management duties and service development, she continues to work clinically within the ADHD service. During her time here she has seen a huge number of changes and challenges both nationally and at a service level. Aside both the clinical and management aspects of the role, Melanie regularly teaches a national and international ADHD distance learning course as well as postgraduate masters training in neurodisability for clinicians.
