Meet the Speakers
Ibrahim Vhora graduated at the Leicester school of pharmacy in 2013 and subsequently trained at
Alder Hey Children’s hospital as a specialist paediatric clinical pharmacist. Whilst working at Alder Hey, Ibrahim has gained extensive experience in the field of paediatric pharmacy and held a variety of positions, including medicines information, clinical trials, formulary and procurement. More recently he has specialised in developmental paediatrics and has a particular interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and insomnia, in which he has completed sleep practitioner training. He is passionate about using medicines appropriately and in particular, the overuse of medicine. Ibrahim specialises in medicines management, governance, medication safety and medicines optimisation.
Whilst in role, Ibrahim has led on service development, with a focus on digital improvement. He has also worked closely with, and developed relationships across, clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), and clinical supporting units (CSUs) in order to improve the care interface. A focus of development is sleep pathways within Alder Hey and collaborating with other trusts within Merseyside to unify practice. He is leading on a pilot which evaluates the effect of behavioural sleep intervention on the resolution of sleeping difficulties and subsequent medication use.
