After finishing Medicine in India, Dr Damodaran has worked within various subspecialties of Psychiatry in England. Core training in Psychiatry in England developed her interest in Neurodevelopmental conditions and she subsequently completed higher training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has worked as a Consultant in Paediatric Liaison Neuropsychiatry for over 6 years at Birmingham Children's Hospital, Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust providing Neuropsychiatric input for children with Epilepsy, Tics, Tourette’s, Functional Neurological Disorders amongst others, promoting interface between mental and physical health in understanding and holistically treating, acute presentations to hospital.

Dr Male is a consultant community paediatrician leading the local autistic clinic and child development team. He is working with Trust and local commissioners on the development of a potential neurodevelopmental pathway. He leads the Realist Evaluation of Autism Service Delivery funded by, and working, with the NHSE autism team. His research interests also include how we can use digitech to aid diagnosis and therapeutic intervention, for example using the Wii Fit in children with cerebral palsy, and access to sport for children with special needs.

Dr Subramanian Mahadevan-Bava is a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist working at Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley. Dr Mahadevan-Bava completed his MD in Paediatrics at Delhi University, then finished his specialist training and research in Oxford and Birmingham. He has dual accreditation as a General Paediatrician and Paediatric Gastroenterologist. Later he developed interest in neurobehavioural problems in children and has completed a Diploma in neurodisability. He is the designated lead for safeguarding and lead for community paediatrics. He has special interests in sleep and gut problems in children with neurobehavioural issues. He is passionate about teaching, and is a senior clinical academic tutor for medical student teaching for the University of Birmingham. Dr Mahadevan-Bava is also Assistant Professor in Paediatrics at Grenada University. He is the secretary for Midlands Regional Paediatric Society.

Gaby is the research co-ordinator for the Paediatric Medicines Research Unit (PMRU) at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. The unit’s research themes are drug safety, formulations and medicines optimisation. Gaby is a registered children’s nurse since 2006 working in neurology /neurosurgery. She became a research nurse in 2009 before moving into the role of PMRU research co-ordinator in 2019, supporting research design, development, delivery and governance. Her research interests include acceptability of medicines in children and young people.

Dr McCloskey is a registered pharmacist of the GPhC and PSNI with a range of experience working across the three main sectors of pharmacy- clinical practice, academia and industry. Upon successful completion of her pre-registration training Dr McCloskey returned to Queen's University Belfast and completed a PhD in pharmaceutics where she developed 'Self-assembled Peptide Nanomaterials for the Prevention of Biomaterial Infection'. This was followed by an industry-academia collaborative post-doc between the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI, Dublin) and the Galway-based nebuliser company Aerogen, a global leader in aerosol delivery. This work was also linked with a national patient focused medical device research centre, CURAM based at The National University of Ireland, Galway. Dr McCloskey is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and Fellow of HEA (Higher Education Academy). Links are maintained with clinical pharmacy through regular days in practice both in hospital and community settings.

Professor Elphick has been a consultant in Sheffield since 2008, having trained at Alder Hey and Melbourne Children’s Hospitals. She leads the sleep service at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, managing a comprehensive range of sleep disorders. Heather holds an Honorary Chair with the University of Sheffield, in recognition of her collaborative work in research, leading nationally funded projects, including the “Wake Up to Sleep” project promoting awareness of the impacts of sleep deprivation.

Janine has been a Paediatric Nurse since 2005, working in the field of Sleep Medicine as an experienced Nurse Specialist in sleep since 2008. Janine runs the Paediatric Sleep Clinic in Sheffield Children’s Hospital, providing specialist sleep advice for parents and caregivers, as well as children and young people. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary consultant-led team, she contributes to the growing Sleep Advisory Service. As the leading Specialist Nurse in Paediatric Narcolepsy, Janine looks after the day to day running of a supra-regional Paediatric Narcolepsy Service, its cohort of patients and families, including nurse-led clinics and visits to schools. As part of her role, Janine regularly undertakes clinical audit and research whilst still finding time to support other staff in the Paediatric Sleep Disorders Service.
